This has been the subject of some controversy, even in scientific circles.
Initially it was thought that the time you eat doesn’t directly impact weight gain and that it’s the total calories consumed throughout the day that matter. However more recent research has shown that there is a difference in hunger levels, calories consumed, and the way that these calories are burned if eaten later in the evening.
Eating healthy foods in appropriate portions can support weight management and this is especially important if eating late at night or working night shifts, so be extra careful with your choices.
