A hemogram (also called a full blood count) is a blood test that can reveal important information about your health. It can be used to diagnose conditions such as:
- iron or vitamin B12 deficiency anaemia
- infections or inflammation in the body
- bleeding or clotting disorders
- some types of blood cancer
The hemogram test measures the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets in your body. It can also tell whether the size and shape of these cells appears normal.
Abnormalities in these cells can give a doctor a clue as to whether the overall health of the person is affected, and if so, which diseases are likely to be causing this.
It is one of the most important screening blood tests carried out.
At Oval Medical Centre, we offer over 1000 tests for a variety of diagnostic and screening purposes.
