The tonsils, situated at the back of your throat, can become infected and this is known as tonsillitis. It is a condition that can affect people of all ages, but it tends to be more frequent in young children.

The primary indications of this illness include:
- a sore throat
- problems swallowing
- a high temperature of 38C or above
- coughing
- a headache
- feeling sick
- earache
- feeling tired
Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils, which are part of the throat’s immune system. It can be caused by a virus or bacteria. Talk to your doctor about the best way to manage your tonsillitis and get back to feeling like yourself again!
